Testimonial: Spread the Inglenook Love

We love hearing from our current homeowners, and love to hear the Inglenook love spread. Thanks for sharing Deanne!

Ross Chapin Coho Cottage

“I first fell in love with the charming colors, open porches, and unique design of the cottage homes of Inglenook.  I loved the idea of garage entrances being placed behind the homes and rather than roads in front, there is green space.  After living in my cottage for almost two years, I continue to love what first drew me to these homes, but I now have a greater appreciation for the lifestyle that is encouraged by the pocket neighborhood design.  You feel a sense of community!  You know your neighbors, their children, and pets.  In addition, the cottage design continues to amaze me, especially the natural light that pours in the huge windows throughout the cottage.  I am grateful for the opportunity to live here.  I feel like I am on vacation every day!”

Enjoy your vacation!

Carmel Rankings

Carmel Rankings

This year the City of Carmel has added several new accolades to its already impressive reputation as a suburban oasis. The latest honors to be endowed on Carmel are “nation’s best small city” and “top city for kids”.

“Nation’s Best Small City”

NerdWallet, a personal finance website, named Carmel the best small city in the country based on a study released this summer. The website analyzed more than 900 small cities and ranked them based on growth, affordability, and how well they meet residents’ basic needs. The city also took the No. 1 spot in the analysis of the best towns in Indiana for young families. Read more about who else topped the list here>

“Top City For Kids”

Livability.com named Carmel one of its 10 best cities for kids, praising the quality schools, plentiful parks, and low crime rates. Read more here>.

Just a couple more reasons to love Carmel, IN (as if you needed them!).

Safety Comes First in Carmel

Safety Comes First in Carmel

A recent survey by an independent real estate blog named Carmel, IN as America’s safest suburb.  The survey looked at 120 suburban cities across America and criteria for this survey included a study of property crimes per capita (burglaries, thefts, and motor vehicle thefts), violent crimes per capita (murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults) and the odds of being a victim of a crime.

You can read the full results below.  Spoiler alert: Fishers, IN ranks 2nd!

IndyStar reporter Dan McFeely recently put together a photo gallery of his 25 favorite things about Carmel, Indiana.  His list includes everything from the Monon Trail and local farmers’ market to the dominance of the Carmel school system and sports teams.

As fellow residents of Carmel we thought we would add a few others to the list:

  • Carmel Gazebo Concert Series – Enjoy some great music while relaxing with friends and family.
  • Stellar Schools – Carmel public schools score a 9 out of 10 (with ten being top marks) based on its public schools test results.  Carmel High School scored a perfect 10!
  • Carmel Parks – Explore more than 500 acres of parkland by foot or bike! J
  • Recycling Program – It’s nice to live in a city that cares about the environment and pays it forward.
  • Something for everyone – Probably one of the best things about living in Carmel is that there’s something for everyone!  If you love the outdoors, there is biking, hiking, parks, rivers, etc.  If you love the arts, check out the Palladium, the ballet, or the Arts & Design District.  This really is a city for everyone!
