Pocket Neighborhood Design Detail - Eyes on the Commons

At the heart of Inglenook’s Pocket Neighborhood living is the unique community design.  Each home is tucked into a pocket of 4-12 homes.  This pocket of homes becomes a neighborhood within a neighborhood. Neighbors know each other’s names, their children’s names, and their pets.  The community is an extended family looking out for one another.  As a current Inglenook homeowner put it, “helping hands, shared resources, a watchful eye out for and on you, a shared cup of coffee or glass of wine.  If you're on your front porch, you can count on sharing a moment with whomever's out!”

There are a variety of different options for living in Inglenook’s close-knit community – quiet tree-lined homesites, corner lots with wrap-around porches, and homesites nestled along the heart of the community greens.

Here are a few charming homesites still available in Phase 1 to whet your appetite:

Homesite #10 –  This homesite is quietly tucked away along the outside of the neighborhood in a beautiful, large, corner lot.  Located in the Northeast corner of the Pocket Neighborhood homesite #10 is one of the most private homesites in the neighborhood, and will be among the first set of homes to be completed.  This homesite can accommodate a Plumrose, Madison, Ellis, or Iris design.

Inglenook Zionsville Pocket Neighborhood

Sneak peak at the Spruce

The Spruce is one of Ross Chapin’s newest cottage designs. This particular design was drawn up specifically for Inglenook of Zionsville. The expansive wrap around porch lends itself nicely to the beautifully wooded site and connected community. The porch opens up into an open great room that stretches the width of the home and includes the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Like all Inglenook designs, Ross Chapin has conscientiously divided the active areas from the passive (or more private) areas.

The first Spruce to be built will be a custom Spruce on homesite #12. We can’t wait to build this one! There are only two remaining homesites for a Spruce – homesite #1 and homesite #2. Contact us for specific information on pricing or to schedule a home plan meeting – or 317.767.9760.

Testimonial: Spread the Inglenook Love

We love hearing from our current homeowners, and love to hear the Inglenook love spread. Thanks for sharing Deanne!

Ross Chapin Coho Cottage

“I first fell in love with the charming colors, open porches, and unique design of the cottage homes of Inglenook.  I loved the idea of garage entrances being placed behind the homes and rather than roads in front, there is green space.  After living in my cottage for almost two years, I continue to love what first drew me to these homes, but I now have a greater appreciation for the lifestyle that is encouraged by the pocket neighborhood design.  You feel a sense of community!  You know your neighbors, their children, and pets.  In addition, the cottage design continues to amaze me, especially the natural light that pours in the huge windows throughout the cottage.  I am grateful for the opportunity to live here.  I feel like I am on vacation every day!”

Enjoy your vacation!

Pocket Neighborhoods Build Community

Too often, people live in a “community” without truly knowing their next-door neighbors. Homes are isolated fortresses with neighbors waving from cars as they buzz in and out of their castles.

We stand for something different.

Inglenook of Carmel Pocket NeighborhoodPocket neighborhoods, like Inglenook, are strategically designed to build a true sense of community. We focus not only on the development of a home, but the building of a community.

The neighborhood design encourages daily interactions amongst residents fostering long-term, meaningful relationships. Sizable greenbelts anchor the neighborhood and provide friendly grounds for children to play, pets to romp, and neighbors to mingle. Wrapping each green are pedestrian-friendly walkways encouraging further connectivity. The shared outdoor spaces act as extensions of everyone’s home: a place to gather, a place to play, a place for an impromptu neighborhood potluck dinner. This type of community is intimate and connected.

We look forward to bringing this unique type of community to Zionsville and hope you can be a part of the magic. Construction starts Spring 2016, home site reservations for Phase One are currently being accepted.  To schedule a private site tour or home design meeting please call 317.767.9760 or email us at

A Closer Look At Inglenook’s New Zionsville Site

A Closer Look At Inglenook’s New Zionsville Site

Ross Chapin Pocket Neighborhood

Located minutes away from Zionsville Village, Inglenook’s newest pocket neighborhood will be tucked away on 17 acres off Zionsville Road, south of 106th Street. The neighborhood plan is still underway, but we couldn’t wait to share these details about our new home!

Upon a quick drive-by the first thing you’ll notice is the size; the acreage of Zionsville’s neighborhood is three-times larger than Inglenook of Carmel. While it is three-times larger, there will only be 45-50 cottage homes built at Inglenook’s Zionsville neighborhood. Inglenook’s Zionsville pocket neighborhood will be a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom cottage-style home designs from Ross Chapin Architects. The final list of home designs is being worked through, but you can expect to see some of your Inglenook of Carmel favorites and some new cottage designs just for Zionsville.

One detail that is still outstanding is the official name of Inglenook’s new Zionsville pocket neighborhood. We have some ideas of our own, but would love to have you, the future homeowners, help name the neighborhood. If you have an idea send us a message on Facebook or email us at We would love to hear from you!

Stop by this Sunday, August 23rd from 1-4PM to tour our final homes. Hope to see you there! Schedule a private tour or ask any questions by emailing us at or calling us at 317.767.9760.
